Music
Genting Hong Kong knows intimately that quality entertainment can make all the difference to a holiday experience and music, in particular, is a common language among all cultures that resonates universally. In this light, the company sponsored well-known musicians and entertainers to perform beyond their homelands and highlighted up-and-coming artists to a wider audience.

In June 2012, Genting Hong Kong kick-started an initiative to introduce Filipino talent to local audiences across the region. The CompanY, a Filipino vocal harmony group and a household name in their own right, was brought to Hong Kong in June 2013. They entertained over 10,000 spectators at an outdoor event, co-organized by the Philippine Association of Hong Kong and Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong in celebration of the 115th Philippine Independence Day. The CompanY also performed at the Philippine Association of Hong Kong Annual Charity Ball to help raise funds for two local charities. In December 2013, Draybers, Resorts World Manila’s resident rock group, returned to Hong Kong and performed at “Concert in the Park”, an annual cultural event jointly organized by the Consulate General of the Philippines and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong.

The company’s ongoing initiatives to promote cross-culture appreciation also extended its efforts to showcase multicultural music talent across the region. In June 2013, Malaysian powerhouse singer / songwriter Eric Moo brought Asian music talents together with his “Come Back to You” concert at Resorts World Manila. Eric brought to the concert his band of seasoned musicians from Beijing, Taiwan and Hong Kong. His music was superbly accompanied by the 30-piece Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the leading orchestras in the Philippines, and a special ballet act from Dalian further enriched this musical journey.
In a pan-Asia concert series titled “Our Favourite Melodies with Eric Moo”, Genting Hong Kong sponsored Eric to bring timeless Chinese songs to audiences in Penang, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Kota Kinabalu in venues such as Resorts World Manila and the Star Cruises fleet. The inaugural concert was staged at Resorts World Manila’s state-of-the-art Newport Performing Arts Theatre in April 2012 to a rousing reception.
